On 15.09.2012, the new building was inaugurated – extension of hall 1 Cugir, as a preface for the STC yearly party. Nothing more suitable– an already prepared festive background, good mood, because during the holidays we have reasons to celebrate. We build because we want to expand, because we have new projects, a trend that we hope will remain the same for the next years.
At the first inauguration, Mr. Bernd Krottmayerfirst, our company’s administrator spoke first. He was very pleased with what had been done in recent months, thanking the manufacturing company – Pomponio, the STC leadership that coordinated the building process, and us – the members of the STC family for our patience and acceptance of changes in our daily activities due to the building process. The representative of Pomponio, Mr. Luca Anversa, added some words in Romanian, with a delicious Italian accent, thanking for the chance to build for us. Eventually, the Prefect – Dan Simedru expressed his appreciation for our initiative and growth.
This spring we could only see the land covered by grass on the place where now some new equipment is already installed in the new hall. The weather was not on our side in moments when we wanted to begin the excavations. We waited for three weeks for a sign of goodwill from Mother Nature. This meant that the deadlines were more closely met. With maximum involvement, extra work hours and probably some adrenaline, our construction company has “delivered” a new hall to us according to plan. We have learned a few technical details about the hall that will be mentioned below.
The building has a foundation constructed with precast poles made out of reinforced steel. The roof is made out of metal structures. The exterior walls and the roof sheathing are made out of sandwich type panels with polyurethane foam, with a width of 80 mm. There are some areas that require a steadier structure, so there have been assembled fire-resistant panels. Inside, the floors, with a surface of approximately 8,000 mp, are made out of reinforced concrete with metal fibres, covered with epoxy resin resistant to heavy traffic, to mechanical and chemical stress.
However, this is exactly what we want – traffic and use of the facility at full capacity. Meanwhile we look forward to also completing the other buildings – the logistic hall in Sebeş and the canteens at our both locations. And…. to build as much as possible together – buildings and not only!
