The history of Star Transmission began 12 years ago when, after the joint venture between Mercedes-BenzChrysler AG and Mechanical Factory Cugir was set up, thus creating Star Transmission Cugir SRL, a company in which Mercedes-BenzChrysler AG then had 65% of the share capital and Cugir Mechanical Factory 35%.

From the date of association, the capital structure has changed, from the aforementioned ratio, becoming 56% – Mercedes-Benz AG and 44% – Cugir Mechanical Factory, respectively, in 2006, to reach in 2010, after the capital increase made by Mercedes-Benz AG, a percentage of 78.28% – Mercedes-Benz AG and 22.72% – Cugir Mechanical Factory.

Nowadays, we live a beautiful moment and we like to think we made history, due to the fact that, thanks to us, the “STC Family”, the majority shareholder decided that STC is 100% part of Mercedes-Benz AG.

Following this decision, Mercedes-Benz AG acquired the entire package of shares owned by Cugir Mechanical Factory, the two partners signing the contract in March this year.

As a result of recent events, we can proudly say: We are 100% DAIMLER.
