People from STC and STA

Our employees are our source of inspiration.
Our core values make a difference, but the people who apply these values every day make up, in fact, for our strength. Each of our employees has their own skills, beliefs and ideas – and all these make them unique.
Our inspired, remarkable and diverse employees illustrate the many different voices, personalities and perspectives that come together within our companies and ultimately make Star Transmission and Star Assembly great places for employment.

We consider ourselves partners of our employees.
The production of parts and components for transmissions and engines, prototypes and precision devices, as well as the silent assembly and operation of Mercedes-Benz high-tech transmissions do not happen by accident. Behind these actions lies the exceptional performance of the team.

Our employees are the key to the success of Star Transmission & Star Assembly. Thus, over 2,600 people take the story of our companies to the community, contribute with their experience and ideas to the efficiency of work processes and support innovation.

How do we shape our collaboration?
We structure our decision-making processes in a manner that ensures transparency for our employees and their active participation in them. We invest widely in training and professional development and continue to adapt our strategy accordingly. Our programs aim to develop both technical and soft skills, amplified by major changes in the automotive sector. Our approach uses digital learning methods, especially in the current context, where the digital environment has become essential in everyday work.

Testimonials:

Sorin Călariu

System leader

“After a three-year collaboration with the Mechanical Plant in Cugir, I participated in the foundation of Star Transmission in 2001, as a joint venture between Mercedes-Benz AG and the Mechanical Plant. In 2007, I promoted as Team Leader, and starting 2011, I occupy the position of CNC operator and System Leader.

Over the years, together withthe experience I gained, I contributed to various projects of the company, which consist of gear assembly. I saw the company grow and I was there in its key moments. What motivates me professionally is the fact that there is always a desire for improvement in terms of technology, but also in terms of team performance. On a personal level too, I believe that we always have something new to learn and improve in ourselves.”
