In the spring of this year, the sprockets production reached its maximum capacity and even above. With 30 machines, 1,380,000 pieces/year were produced, and a production increase of 10% was even forecast for 2011-2012.
In the same year, the second production line is transferred from Transmissions Plant in Hedelfingen/Stuttgart, Germany, i.e. the complete NSG axes line, with a production of 500 pieces per day in 5 variants and, after 5 months from transfer, the production started on this line.
Once the production of the sprockets transferred from Berlin to Cugir started, STC purchased another plot of land and building in Sebeș. The works at the Production Hall in Sebeș were carried out very quickly, thus in June the first machines arrived for the “Chain Tensioner”, “Planet Gears” lines and the first work benches were brought for assembling FAG transmissions. The official opening of the Production Hall took place in November.
At the Sebeș location, the first transmission assembly line was set up. STC began a new chapter by the assembly of complete FAG transmissions for Mercedes-Benz A-Klasse.
