2014

STAR TRANSMISSION was off to great start in 2014, with the inauguration of the project involving the mounting of the 7-speed gearbox. We are talking about an investment of 40 million euro, which generated 200 new jobs as well.

The total volume of investments this year reached 69 million euro. This clearly shows us that the Company’s business has grown. The sales recorded an increase, compared to the previous year, by 59% (57 million euro), while the number of employees also increased by 28% (from 1167 to 1499).
STC ended 2014 with a profit of 3.2 million euro.

Total investment volume: 69 mil. euro
Profit: 3.2 mil. euro
Increase in sales: 59%
Increase in the number of employees: 28%

The above figures entitle us to argue that 2014 was a very successful year for STC in line with the success of the parent company, Mercedes-Benz AG.
This year has been the first in which STC organized an Internship program “Summer Xperience – work and fun”, attended by 16 students currently studying in major academic centres in Romania and even Germany.
STAR TRANSMISSION also opened its doors to pupils who had the opportunity to step into the factory and see the production and assembly lines. The visit was organized within the “Săptămâna altfel” program. A new experience for them and for us as well.

A significant event organized by STC was “Ziua furnizorului” (Supplier’s Day). In other words, the event was an excellent opportunity to get to know the suppliers and clearly define our requirements for future projects.
“Anfangen ist leicht, beharren eine Kunst” (Starting is easy, persistence is an art) said Mr. Bernd Krottmayer in an open letter addressed to each of the 1,500 STC employees.
“I am proud of what we have accomplished together, we have built a solid foundation and we have the opportunity to further develop harmoniously. In 2014, each of you has contributed to this success and I thank you for this. And in the future, we will expect just as many challenges. This can only make us happy … because challenges mean development”, Bernd Krottmayer, CEO of Star Transmission & Star Assembly.
